They focus on the sugar beet, but information can pertain to other types. They cover the history of beet production, botany, and breeding, and the symptoms, causes, disease cycle and epidemiology, and management of biotic and abiotic disorders and postharvest deterioration; the life history, damage, and management of major insect and arthropod pests; and newly emerging issues like fungicide resistance and new diseases. In this edition, they have increased the number of images of plant injury symptoms caused by herbicides, nutritional deficiencies, and pathogens and insects, along with their characteristics.
